Q: Can I hold a wedding ceremony on Avila Beach?
A: Avila Beach is the perfect setting for a fun or elegant beach wedding. Because it's a public beach you cannot reserve a spot and due to the popularity of the beach, a special event permit ensures no more than one permit will be issued for the same area, at the same time. The beach is a public facility; therefore special event permits do not provide exclusive use of the beach. For more information on weddings in Avila Beach please check out our wedding & events guide. For more information on obtaining a special events permit and all the rules visit the Port San Luis Harbor district's website.
