Bring your ice chest and enjoy a beautiful day of fishing. In the Spring, you can fish for halibut, salmon, and mackerel. Rockfish, sharks and barracuda are caught in Summer and Fall. There are bait and tackle shops on both piers that rent poles and other fishing gear. No license is required when fishing from either the Avila Beach Pier or Harford Pier. If you decide to do some surf fishing, however, you must obtain a fishing license. They can be purchased at Patriot Sportfishing located on the Harford Pier. Patriot offers deep sea fishing charters on a boat for a really fishing experience. Make sure you know all the rules from the California Department of Fish and Game.
